The Truth of Uncouth
I've been getting peppered by this word for weeks now. I knew it was a putdown, but I couldn't make it out clearly until this morning. It's the word uncouth. Whenever Subconscious Dave sends me a word like that, he wants me to talk about it. So I was wondering if anyone out there has been hearing this word in reference to me. The way I'm hearing it is in the phrase, you're uncouth. Right off, I must confess to being the child of not so highly educated parents, but they were of the 1930's Depression generation and it was common. In my defence, I have a gentle, refined side, which I express through my poetry. I would recommend a lot of my poems for children. The only reason anyone would have to hurl a putdown like this at me would be to help the superstars look better for stealing my work. What kind of attitude supports it? The same that put Taylor Swift in five-star accommodations here, where she could look down her nose at her fraud victim who lived in his meagre little hovel below. I bet I would look a lot classier with all that money they stole out of my music's appeal and my comedy's appeal, but they want you to think I'm uncouth and that they're classy because they got all the money for stealing from me. At the risk of sounding uncouth, it's too bad such hatemongers get so far along before the person next to them finally belts them across the jaw. Networks, what kind of lists have I been making on your countdowns? Not the same top-forty glory positions you reserve for violators of my music copyrights or the big movie deals for stars who steal my blogs. But was I 'a hate'? Oh, what an honour! I owe it all to you and your fucking hypnotic mind-ray stuck on its hate setting for ten years. Amazing how much you're allowed to abuse people with that transmitter of yours. I don't know if anyone's been making a fuss about that decapitated bull from my last sketch, but it's there to help illustrate 'netherwork' cruelty. In the framework of a comedy, the more believable the cruelty is, the funnier it is. If they stole it, I'm sure they'd have that bull screaming, just the way I wrote it. But it just fiction. The truth about them is probably even more shocking. |
